I keep seeing "MOFA visa" and "MOFA number" mentioned for Saudi visas. What exactly is the MOFA platform, and how can I check the status of a visa application someone has submitted for me? I want to be sure the visa is genuine before I book flights.
The MOFA visa platform is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' official visa website, and it has an inquiry service where you can look up a submitted application using its reference number.
On Saudi Expats: our MOFA visa guide and the work visa document checklist.
Checked September 2026. Platform names and menus change, so follow the official site if a step looks different.
If you've checked a visa on the platform recently, share your experience below: which reference number worked, and how quickly did the status update?

One thing worth checking before booking flights is that the reference number matches the type selected in the MOFA inquiry form. An application number, visa document number, and visa request number are not necessarily interchangeable.
The current MOFA platform also asks for the relevant registry number and the image code before showing the result. If you get “no data found,” recheck the digits, make sure the correct query type is selected, and confirm that the application has actually been entered into the system.
I also found a useful End of Service Calculator guide that explains the current MOFA visa check process, including the English labels and the difference between the older MOFA/Enjaz process and the newer KSA VISA platform. It is still important to verify the final status directly through the official Saudi government portal rather than relying on a screenshot or third-party confirmation.
For a genuine visa, I’d want the status and visa details to appear on the official portal before making non-refundable travel arrangements.
