I travelled home on an exit re-entry visa and couldn't get back before it expired. Is there an official way to extend it from outside the Kingdom, and what conditions apply? I don't want to lose my job or my residency.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a request to extend a return visa that has expired, made by your sponsor, but it has conditions, so contact your employer or family sponsor straight away.
Rules on coming back after a re-entry visa expires have changed over the years, so rely on your sponsor's check in the official systems rather than stories online.
On Saudi Expats: the exit re-entry visa guide and the exit re-entry visa fee calculator.
Checked September 2026. MOFA's service page was last updated in January 2024; your sponsor will see the current requirements on the platform.
