I'm planning a trip home and need an exit re-entry visa. What are the official fees for single and multiple visas, how are extra months charged, and does my iqama need to stay valid for the whole trip? Is this something my employer pays?

Jawazat's fee table lists SAR 200 for a single exit re-entry visa covering one trip of up to two months, plus SAR 100 for each extra month, and SAR 500 for a multiple visa covering up to three months, plus SAR 200 for each extra month.
Extending a visa while you're already outside Saudi Arabia can cost more than these figures, so check the fee shown in Absher or Muqeem before you pay.
Plan for it to. The fee table ties the extra months to the period your iqama is valid, so if your iqama expires before you'd return, renew it before you apply.
For employees, Article 40 of the Labor Law lists exit re-entry fees among the employer's costs. Visas for family members aren't in that article, so check your contract.
On Saudi Expats: the exit re-entry visa guide and the exit re-entry visa fee calculator.
Checked September 2026. Fees are from Jawazat's published fee table (dated 12 Safar 1445).
